COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater Planning Commission is scheduled to take action Monday night on a request from Jepson Electric on Garfield Avenue to build a 5,000 square foot storage building ,but city staff members have their reservations about the proposed project.
The building would be used for storage of material and taller vehicles.
But the site is presently a designated wetland and in a floodplain, which would require additional permits from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
The site is bordered on the east by the South Lake Drain.
Jepson Electric currently has seven employees. No new employees are expected to be added with the new building. Construction is expected to cost $150,000.
