COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County will be submitting an application to the Michigan Department of Treasury for a competitive grant assistance program that would allow Bronson, Quincy and Union City to have remote access to the county building inspection department.
The Branch County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution supporting the application Tuesday.
County Administrator Bud Norman says this will help with the building and zoning permitting process.
Right now, the county has a fiber connection with Coldwater but they don’t have one with Bronson, Quincy and Union City.
Norman pointed out this will make things a lot easier for individuals who need to get permits.
The application has to be submitted to the state by August in order for it to be considered.
