COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – During last Friday’s Branch County Economic Outlook meeting, ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital Chief Executive Officer and President Randy DeGroot talked about ProMedica and real estate investment firm Welltower partnering to acquire HCR ManorCare. DeGroot said the move will double the size of ProMedica and move it to a $7 billion organization.
The closing on the transaction is expected to take place in the fall. It will allow ProMedica to have 70,000 employees in 30 states.
ProMedica took over the former Community Health Center of Branch County. ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital is part of a 13-hospital system that serves Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
