COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council has approved a Resolution and Ordinance to update local floodplain management in compliance with new FEMA flood map regulations set to take effect on January 22, 2027.
Presented by City Attorney Amanda O’Boyle, these measures ensure continued participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), allowing residents to purchase federal flood insurance, while designating the city’s building official to enforce construction standards.
