COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – he Branch County Courthouse will close at 1:00 p.m. today, to allow local law enforcement and county personnel to conduct mandatory facility security drills.
Officials announced that all courtrooms, administrative offices, and public services within the building will suspend operations for the remainder of the afternoon.
The scheduled exercises are part of an ongoing, proactive effort to evaluate emergency response protocols, test communication systems, and ensure the safety of both employees and the public.
Residents requiring immediate county services or facing filing deadlines are urged to utilize online portals or contact specific departments ahead of todays midday closure.
Regular operating hours are scheduled to resume Thursday morning at their normal time.
County officials say their will be an increased presence of emergency vehicles and security personnel will be visible around the courthouse grounds during the afternoon, but they emphasize that the drill is entirely simulated and poses no threat to the community.
