COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Phase one of the Rotary Park redevelopment project in Coldwater is on track for completion by next weekends Labor Day holiday.
Following earlier material delays involving concrete light pole bases, contractors from Parrish Excavating successfully resumed operations on the east side of the Coldwater River.

Financed largely by the city’s state cannabis tax revenues, this initial $1.5 million phase completely transforms the public area with a newly installed double concrete boat launch, expanded trailer parking, modern public restrooms equipped with a sewer lift station, and a dedicated boat wash station designed to combat invasive aquatic species.
With the first phase reaching the finish line, the City of Coldwater is already transitioning into phase two after awarding a $671,869 contract earlier this month. The upcoming phase will build upon these foundational upgrades by introducing a waterfront picnic pavilion, floating fishing docks, an ADA-accessible kayak launch, and expanded nature trails stretching toward Messenger Lake. City Manager Keith Baker noted that phase two construction is scheduled to begin yet this summer.
