Fred E. Moore, 93, of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026 at The Laurels of Coldwater.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Kelly Young officiating. Interment will follow in Matteson Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born June 6, 1933 in Girard to David and Leola (George).
Fred graduated from Coldwater High School and went on to attend Michigan State University. He proudly served his country in the United States ARMY. Fred owned and operated his own farm his whole life, running nothing but Massey Harris Tractors. He drove across the Mackinaw Bridge twice on his tractors and was a member of the Jackson Antique Tractor Club. Fred also drove his tractor in Washington D.C. in 1978 in Protest for the American Agriculture Movement. He also enjoyed bowling and was a avid deer hunter, making many trips to Whittemore for deer camp.
Fred married Carol (Cambell) on December 8, 2018 and she survives. In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by four children, Janice Furtaw of Dewitt, Dave (Nancy) Moore of Coldwater, Sham (Chuck Morrill) Moore of Vicksburg, Bradley (Michelle) Moore of Jonesville; sister, Ruth Ann Robinson of Whittemore; seven step-children, Jim (Lee) Barve, Mickey (Dick) Roberts, Richard (Evelyn) Barve, Connie (Rick) Guthrie, Lisa Watson, TJ Watson, Matthew Rucker; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Beverly (Cribbs); second wife, Bonnie (Barve); two brothers, Robert and Donald Moore; granddaughter, Heather Furr and one step-son, Herbert Watson Jr.
