QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Oriole football team improved to 3-0 overall and in the Big 8 thanks to a 67-21 win against visiting Stockbridge on Military and First Responders Night.
Quarterback Joe Gray was 7-of-9 passing for 124 yards and two touchdowns; he also ran for 79 yards and two TDs on five carries. Noah Kelly had 12 carries for 113 yards and five touchdowns while adding an 85-yard kickoff return for a score. Noah Rufenacht had four receptions for 60 yards and a TD, and JJ Wright finished with 3 catches for 64 yards and a score.
Defensively, Wright had 13 tackles, Isaiah Staggs tallied 10 tackles and a sack, and Gibson James recorded nine tackles.
Through the first third of the season, Quincy has averaged 51 points per game. They will visit county rival Union City next Friday.
