BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – In a battle of Division Three high school baseball state-ranked teams, fourth ranked Bronson swept a doubleheader from 11th ranked Buchanan Thursday by scores of 11-10 and 10-3 as the Vikings improved their record to 24-3.
Brenden Bell and Bryant Behnke were the winning pitchers. It was Behnke’s first varsity victory on the mound. Bronson came back twice from four run deficits in the opener. Kameron Haviland homered. Ethan Cossairt, Brett Sikorski and Bell all had two RBI’s.
Cossairt and Haviland both had two RBI’s in the nightcap.
Union City got back on the winning track after their doubleheader loss to top ranked Homer with a 10-0 victory at Centreville. Colton Johns collected three of the ten Charger hits. Garrett Korn and Issac Hunt both had two hits.
Larson Kever was the winning pitcher as he allowed three hits in five innings of work and struck out six. Union City is now 16-9.
In girls softball, Union City dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Centreville by scores of 10-0 and 20-5.
