COLDWATER, MI ( WTVB) – After leading 3-0 at the half, the Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team scored five goals in less than 12 minutes to start the second half, enroute to an 8-0 mercy rule victory over Pennfield Thursday evening.
The Cardinals dominated the game, outshooting Pennfield 27-0.
Siler Van Dellen, Ahmed Norman, Romero Saintvil each had two goals, with one each from Landon Patino and Abdulhamid Munassar, as the game ended early, with 28:45 to play in the second half.
Norman and Ali Ahmed each had two assists, with one each from Muthana Hajaji, Hamza Alammari, and Van Dellen.
Jensely Norvilus and Mackenson Berry split time in goal for the shutout.
The Cardinals are now 8-1 overall and 3-0 in the Interstate 8 Conference. They will host Melvindale in non-conference action Saturday in the Battle of the Cardinals, with the JV game at 11:00 am and the varsity at 12:30 p.m.
The Coldwater JV soccer team beat the Bronson varsity 6-0 Thursday.
