COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council and the city’s Planning Commission will hold a special joint meeting Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the future use and development of the former Federal Mogul property at 600 West Chicago.
The City Council tabled a draft agreement on January 25 until Monday’s meeting concerning the proposed sale of the property to Coach Road Capital, LLC of Spring Lake, Michigan. Coach Road developed the Apartments at Sauk Trail on the east side of Coldwater.
City Manager Keith Baker said in a memo to the Council that since the last meeting, city staff has met with the proposed developer.
He went on to say after discussions and the desire to assemble additional information prior to further consideration by City Council, the developer has asked that the draft sales agreement be tabled once more until the next Council meeting on Monday, February 22. That request was approved by the Council Monday night.
In other business, the Council approved a request from the Coldwater Department of Public Safety to purchase eight body cameras for its police officers. Watch Guard based in Allen, Texas submitted a quote of over $33,600 for the body cameras along with the necessary charging and docking systems. The quote includes the pricing for migration of existing data and unlimited hosting and sharing of the new data.
