UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Union City has officially named Tate Goodwin, Marcia Carman, and Amber Case as its 2026 Citizens of the Year.
The prominent community members will be formally honored this Saturday, , during the annual Farm to Fork celebration held in downtown Union City.
The award program, established by the Village Council in 1981, recognizes local individuals who demonstrate extraordinary service and volunteer contributions beyond their regular professional obligations to improve the community.
Each of this year’s honorees stood out for their exemplary leadership and dedication to the small-town community. Tate Goodwin was recognized for his immense volunteer work driven by faith and service to others.
Marcia Carman was nominated for her steady local involvement, and Amber Case, the Principal of Union City High School, was widely praised for opening the high school’s doors to serve as a crisis relief hub in the devastating aftermath of the March 6, 2026 tornado.
Residents are invited to gather downtown this weekend to celebrate three community leaders and their lasting impact on the village.
