COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved a resolution Monday night which authorized the city to acquire property at 36 West Pearl which is at the former post office and Kilgore Building as part of the Chandler Plaza renovation project.
The purchase price of over $14,000 is in the project budget.
City Manager Keith Baker says this will add six public parking stalls.
Baker said the city approached the property owner during the planning of the Chandler Plaza project in order to buy a portion of the north side of the property to increase the number of public parking stalls and facilitate the reconstruction of the alley out to South Monroe.
He also pointed out a number of property acquisitions in each of the parking lot reconstruction projects.
