James Lee Anderson, 87, of Coldwater passed away peacefully in his home Sunday, September 20, 2026.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
Jim was born April 8, 1939 to Calvin and Ora Mae (Pippin) Anderson in Cookeville, TN. After losing his mother at the age of three, Jim was raised by his grandparents.
Coming from a humble beginning, Jim moved north after graduating high school to join his father in Warren, MI. Where he proudly worked as a Millwright in the automotive industry under Local Union 1102. Generous, yet frugal, he valued hard work and financial stability.
Jim was known for doing things right. His attention to detail and exceptional craftsmanship were evident in everything he did. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and had a remarkable ability to build or fix just about anything. His knowledge and experiences he shared will be deeply missed.
Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor, competitive card playing with friends and family, passion for hunting and the outdoors, love for his many dogs, and all around genuine southern charm.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marion Belding of Coldwater; his siblings Bonnie (Jerry) Pabst, Sue Brown; children James R. Anderson, Karen Rachwal, Paul (Shanti) Anderson, Skyler Anderson; grandchildren Tarra Anderson, Shayna Parker, Shelby Smith, Darby Rachwal, Evan Anderson, Cameron Anderson, Ivy Anderson; and his great granddaughter Chloe Parker.
He was preceded in death by his father Calvin and mother Ora Mae, brother Tommy and sister Joy Dean.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to Animal Aid of Branch County in Jim’s honor.
