BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Swift Pumpkins & Produce in Bronson is teaming up with local chefs to continue their fight against food insecurity by hosting a plated, five-course Fall Harvest Benefit Dinner on Sunday, October 11, at 5:30 p.m..
Chefs Jody Brunori and Patrick Mixis will craft the meal using fresh, local autumn produce sourced directly from the area. Tickets for the fundraiser are priced at $65 per person, with proceeds directly supporting vital community resources, including the local food pantries in Bronson and the newly established Centreville Food Club located inside Centreville High School.
Mix1s says the July dinner was a huge success:
He says they are hoping for the same results next weekend:
The fundraiser arrives at a critical time for the Centerville district, where roughly 55% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch programs.
According to Centreville Public Schools Superintendent Chad Brady, the high school’s year-old food pantry operates like a mini grocery store, fulfilling over 50 emergency orders every week to provide free produce and pantry staples to families in need.
Organizers emphasize that removing the immediate stressor of hunger significantly improves a child’s social, emotional, and academic performance at school, proving how vital local agricultural partnerships are to sustaining community welfare
