ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – An Ohio man faces a maximum of three and a half years in prison after allegedly trespassing into adjacent apartments following a concert at an Angola bar where he was permanently banned from four years ago.
24-year-old Emersyn Q. Haney II, of Holland, Ohio was arrested late Saturday night outside The Venue in Angola, Indiana, where the band Double Shot! had performed as the opening act.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Steuben Superior Court, police responded to a 11:45 p.m. trespassing complaint from nearby apartment residents who reported that Haney had repeatedly wandered uninvited into their homes after leaving the bar.
A background check conducted by arresting officers revealed that Haney had been permanently trespassed from The Venue following a 2022 underage consumption charge, which was dismissed on the condition that he never return.
Consequently, authorities have officially charged him with a Level 6 felony count of residential entry alongside a Class A misdemeanor count of criminal trespass.
If convicted on both charges, Haney faces up to a $10,000 fine in addition to his potential prison sentence.
