COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners formally approved the ballot language for the new jail millage question Tuesday that will be presented to voters August 7, 2018.
Commissioners were also told by Sheriff John Pollack that the water main which had to be repaired earlier this year has sprung another leak.
Pollack said it looks like they will have to shut down the water for a short time, but it won’t be as extensive as last New Year’s weekend, when it took 31 hours to fix a major water leak.
The Jail Millage Resolution provided a timeline that included the bidding process for an architect and contractor. If the millage is passed, it’s expected the new 184 bed jail would be ready in August 2020.
