UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) -Voters in the Union City Community School District approved a renewal of a building and site sinking fund millage of one mill for six years Tuesday.
It was overwhelmingly approved by a vote of 275-92.
It was estimated the school district would collect over $862,500 in revenue if the millage was approved and levied in 2019.
Meanwhile, voters in Tekonsha Township turned down an increase of up to two mills for 30 years which would have been used for the construction, operation and maintenance of a new fire station. The measure was defeated by a close margin, 146-121.
