MARSHALL, MI – Coldwater won eight out of twelve events as the Cardinals earned a 97-80 Interstate 8 girls swimming victory at Marshall Thursday night.
Ambriah Lewis was a double winner for Coldwater, placing first in both the 200 freestyle (2:19.00) and the 100 freestyle (1:03.32), while Sonya Shchendryhina was a double winner in the 100 butterfly (1:10.38) and the 100 breaststroke (1:15.39). Alyssa Everett earned her fourth diving win of the season (148.45 points), qualifying her for next month’s MHSAA Diving Regional. Zoey Daws won the 100 backstroke (1:16.61), and the Cardinals picked up wins in the 200 medley relay (2:11.14) and the 400 freestyle relay (4:41.19).
Coldwater returns to the Browne Aquatic Center next Thursday for a SMAC dual meet against Lakeview.
