COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Fall festivities and Halloween scares are taking over the Branch County area this weekend, offering residents a mix of family-friendly autumn traditions and hair-raising attractions.
Thrill-seekers can head to the Branch County Fairgrounds in Coldwater on Saturday, October 10, 2026, for the opening night of its annual Haunted House, where a local horse barn has been creatively transformed into a dark maze filled with fog and jump scares.

Meanwhile, families looking for a classic farm outing can visit Stickley Family Farms just on the edge of the county line in Colon. Their daytime Fall Festival features a five-acre corn maze, wagon rides through the “Bonetown” skeleton village, pumpkin picking, and a mini railroad. However, after dark, the farm changes pace as it opens the iconic Tunnel of Terror haunted house, a 30-year-old Michigan tradition featuring live actors and high-impact scares.

For those preferring a gentler seasonal vibe, local options abound with plentiful autumn setups across the region. Showcase Gardens in Coldwater is hosting its first annual month-long Fall Fest this Saturday, welcoming visitors to enjoy a straw maze, lawn games, a bounce house, and fresh cinnamon-sugar donuts paired with hot spiced cider. They will also be hosing pumpkin carving and painting from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

If you are looking to take home the perfect porch decoration, roadside stops like Swift Pumpkins and nearby local farm stands are fully stocked with seasonal gourds. Swift’s is also hosing an antique tractor show from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm.

Whether you are looking to brave a haunted trail or simply sip hot cocoa while navigating a straw maze, Branch County has everything needed to kick off the October spirit this weekend.
