COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Although prices have dropped in the Coldwater area, it appears there is no change to the state’s average gas price compared to last week.
AAA Michigan says its daily survey of stations around the state finds the average holding steady at $2.85 a gallon, about 50-cents more than this time last year.
After spiking last weekend to $2.99 a gallon, prices have sharply dropped around Coldwater by almost 25 to 30 cents during the past week to as low as $2.63 Monday morning.
AAA Michigan is cautioning that fires at Husky Energy’s refinery in Superior, Wisconsin might push prices a little higher in the Great Lakes area over the next few weeks.
