LESLIE, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school softball, Coldwater won the Leslie Blackhawk Invitational Saturday as they defeated Pewamo-Westphalia 8-1 and Jonesville 4-3 in eight innings.
Darlene Horn was the winning pitcher in both games collecting a total of 17 strikeouts. Mia Rzepka and Tyler Scheid both had two hits in the first game. Ellory Farmer, Rzepka and Horn all collected two hits in the finals.
Coldwater’s record is now 11-11.
Bronson went 1-3 at the Northview Invitational. They lost to Unity Christian 7-0 and Kenowa Hills 11-1 before defeating Tri County 13-2. They then lost to East Kentwood 7-4. Dakota Smith went four-for-four against Tri County while Aubrey Ballou was the winning pitcher.
Smith had 10 hits which included three doubles and a triple in the four games.
Bronson’s record is now 9-10.
Union City split their games at the Gobles Invitational. The Chargers defeated Gobles 7-6 as Hope Austin had two hits and two RBI’s. Winning pitcher Quinn Adams struck out six. Union City lost to Saugatuck in the finals 11-7. Autumn Carpenter went four-for-four in the championship game.
