CLINTON, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school golf, Quincy finished fifth at the Clinton Invitational. Lawson Tell finished sixth as he led the Orioles with a 79.
In track and field, the Quincy boys and the Pittsford girls were the top teams at the Quincy Invitational. Quincy won the boys meet with 233 points followed by Union City with 159. Bronson finished fourth. Quincy winners were Nathan Nohr (1600, 3200), Jonathan Purvis (discus) and Bryce Ruhl (long jump and high jump).
Union City winners were Gavin Hooker (100,200), Bobby Hurley (800) and Chad Bruce (110 hurdles and 300 hurdles).
Quincy won the 1600 and 3200 relays while Union City won the 400 and 800 relays.
Pittsford won the girls meet with 220 points followed by Bronson with 143, Quincy with 135 and Union City with 59. Bronson winners were Jenna Salek (200), Xochiti (SO-see) Garcia (3200) and Keona Salesman (high jump). Quincy winners were Harmony Harpster (800), Madelyn Allen (300 hurdles) and Makinzie Groves (pole vault). Quincy won the 1600 and the 3200 relays.
Meantime, Quincy’s Clay Target Team completed their second week of competition on Saturday with a seventh place finish in Conference 6 with 1932.5 points. Michael Richer was the top shooter for Quincy breaking 40 out of 50 targets and placed 45th out of 224 in the conference. Sam Wortz and Ty Johnson tied with 38 targets. Astyn Morris and Kyler Mauer tied with 37 targets.
Quincy had two girls finish in the top 25 in the conference among females. Holiday Williams finished eighth and Lydia Weaver finished 25th.
