DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Michigan gubernatorial candidates Democrat Jocelyn Benson and Republican John James clashed in their second and final debate last night i Detroit, marking their last major televised meeting before Election Day.
The debate frequently grew hostile as both contenders aggressively targeted each other’s integrity, with Benson tying James to national party figures and James labeling his opponent’s record as deeply corrupt.
A central flashpoint of the evening focused on the regulation of data centers and corporate transparency.
Both candidates promised to lower people’s taxes and repeated attacks on each other from their first debate, with Benson linking James to President Trump, and James saying she doesn’t want voters to remember she’s been Secretary of State for the last eight years and “has done nothing to changes the way you’ve been living.”
