COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school baseball,.the Coldwater Cardinals defeated the Quincy Orioles 11-1 in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader Thursday at Lowe Field. The second game was stopped by rain in the top of the second with Coldwater leading 1-0.
First game winning pitcher Austin Roby and Porter Skidmore both scored three runs. Roby also had two hits. Oliver Winter and Austin Santure both drove in two runs. Braden Allman and Chandler Locke both had two hits for the Orioles.
The twinbill was originally scheduled to be played at Quincy but due to unplayable field conditions, it was moved to Coldwater.

Coldwater defeated Quincy 10-0 in the first game of their scheduled doubleheader. Darlene Horn was the winning pitcher. Tyler Scheid had three hits and four RBI’s. Izzy Foley also had three hits for the Cardinals. Mickala Signor and Hayley Wineland both had two hits for Quincy. The second game was stopped by rain in the third inning with Coldwater leading 4-1.
The Coldwater J.V. squad defeated Quincy 15-10 in the first game of their doubleheader as they collected 21 hits. Winning pitcher Emma Stanley had four hits. The second game was called in the top of the third inning due to rain. Quincy was ahead 6-1 at that time.
Baseball and softball action for Bronson and Union City was postponed due to the rain.
