COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s girls swim and dive team took care of business Thursday on Senior Night at the Browne Aquatic Center. The Cardinals won nine out of twelve events on their way to a 97-79 Interstate 8 victory against Hastings.
Fittingly, seniors Ambriah Lewis and Sonya Shchendryhina were double winners on the night. Lewis won the 200 freestyle (2:21.97) and 500 freestyle (6:19.49), and Shchendryhina took first in the 200 individual medley (2:32.58) and 100 breaststroke (1:15.43). Another senior, Sidney Aseltine, won the 50 freestyle, and sophomore Zoey Daws was first in the 100 backstroke (1:14.50). Coldwater also swept the three relay races.
The Cardinals return to SMAC competition on Saturday, as they travel to St. Joseph for a tri-meet with Bridgman.
