COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater will conduct its final scheduled curbside brush collection of the year on Monday.
Residents who miss this final pickup can still dispose of brush, leaves, and yard waste seven days a week from dawn to dusk at the City’s Municipal Services Facility located at 45 Industrial Avenue.
Curbside pickup for paper yard waste bags will continue each Monday as long as weather permits.
Local officials remind residents to keep brush separate from their leaves and emphasize that state law strictly prohibits the open burning of yard waste within city limits or within 1,400 feet of the boundary lines.
Property owners are also asked to hold off on raking or dumping loose leaves into the street gutter pans until the city officially announces its formal fall leaf collection schedule.
They say proper disposal methods protect local infrastructure, and keeping debris out of the street before scheduled pickups ensures city storm drains remain clear during late autumn weather.
