UNDATED (WTVB) – A 2015 study says 6.4 million Americans abuse controlled prescription drugs, but Michigan State Police and others are hoping to change this with the DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
Thirty State Police posts, including the Marshall and Paw Paw posts, will be collecting unused drugs from 10am-2pm Saturday to help prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Office will also be participating today; there will be a drop box in the front lobby for unused drugs. More information about the initiative can be found at https://takebackday.dea.gov/.
