COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners brought forward a request during their Thursday work session to renew the Branch County Employee Assistance Program contract with Megan Garn of 517 Counseling and Recovery for another year.
The $20,000 cost would remain the same in 2027.
The program will be reviewed at the end of 2027 to evaluate its effectiveness and value to Branch County employees and their families.

As of October 31, there have been 91 counseling sessions so far this year with 61 involving employees. The other 30 involved employee family members.
Garn feels things have gone well.
County Administrator Frank Walsh says they have opened up the lunch and learn sessions to employees of other municipalities
A total of $12,500 has been spent out of the $20,000 budget for this year. Commissioners are expected to take formal action on the contract renewal during their meeting on Tuesday.
