Teresa Lee Chapman, 60, of Union City, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 1, 2020 at her home. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Teresa was born on June 17, 1959 in Altus, Oklahoma to Ralph and Billie (Thomas) Azlin. She lived most of her life in Jackson County, OK and moved to the Union City/Tekonsha area in 2006 to be near her sister. She was married to Gene Chapman for many years. He preceded her in death. Teresa was an eccentric woman and loved simple things like fishing. Her favorite fishing spot was on the river at Hodunk. She also loved her dog “Dutchess.” Teresa will be missed by her family who loved her very much.
Ms. Chapman is survived by her siblings Angie (Frank) Walden of Sulfur, OK, Connie (Albert Rhodes) King of Union City, Billy Azlin of Altus, OK, Elizabeth Stout of Tuttle, OK and Charles Azlin of Altus, OK, many nieces and nephews, including; Cherri (Daniel Erickson) King of Coldwater, Howard (Theresa) King of Union City, Chayna (Kyle) Stewart of Fairbanks, AK, Wayne King of Coldwater, Aaron Wayne Azlin, Angela Michelle Walden, Angelica Faith Wiggins, Xavier Alexander Wiggins, Joshua Carl Stout and Joseph Carl Stout, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husband, Teresa was preceded in death by her infant daughter Jennifer Leah Riggs in 1980, her parents and her former companion John Hazelo.
