COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school volleyball Wednesday, Coldwater defeated Adrian 25-18, 25-17 and Kalamazoo Central 25-12, 25-16 in the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
Olivia Foley led the team in assists with 48 and tied for most digs with 12
Laynee Paarlberg had 11 digs
Tyler Scheid led in blocks with 5 and had 13 kills
Anna Tappenden had 6 kills and 11 digs
Abby Herman had 7 kills
Sam Rodesiler led the team in aces with 7
Malorie Rzepka led the team in kills with 23, had 3 aces, and tied for most digs with 12
Coldwater’s record is now 5-2. They will play again on Saturday at the Cereal City Invite held by Pennfield this year.
In the underclassmen matches, the Coldwater junior varsity team also swept Adrian and Kalamazoo Central by 2-0 scores.

The Coldwater freshman also won twice. They defeated Adrian 2-1 (24-26, 25-16, 15-11) and Kalamazoo Central 2-0 (25-9, 25-11). In the win over Adrian, Brooke Moore had four blocks and five kills. Leah Goodwin earned eight service points in a row against Kalamazoo Central. Chloe Schaale, a first year volleyball player, ended the match with two aces for the Cardinals.
Bronson’s junior varsity volleyball team picked up two wins Wednesday night as they defeated Colon and Sturgis in 2 sets.
The Union City junior varsity volleyball team swept the Concord Mini Tournament. The Lady Chargers went 4-0 and brought home the first place trophy. This was a round robin event with the trophy going to the team carrying the most wins at the end of the event.
