COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man died from his injuries Wednesday at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne hours after his bicycle was struck by a car on East Chicago Street near Vans Avenue.
Coldwater City Police say the accident happened just before 6:00 a.m..
An initial investigation by police indicated that an eastbound vehicle in the curb lane that was being driven by 53-year-old Blake Dymond struck a bicycle driven by 86-year-old Joe Fyvie as it was traveling south across East Chicago.
Fyvie was transported from the scene by Life Care Ambulance service to Parkview where he later died.
The accident remains under investigation and anyone who might has witnessed or have information is asked to call Coldwater Police at (517) 278-4525.
Coldwater Police Department were assisted at the scene by Life Care Ambulance Service, the Coldwater Fire Department and the Michigan State Police.
