DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – The Detroit Tigers have signed veteran pitcher Tyson Ross to a one-year contract, reportedly worth $5.75 million plus incentives. The 31-year-old went 8-9 with a 4.15 ERA in 31 appearances, including 23 starts, with San Diego and St. Louis last season.
Last week, Detroit signed pitcher Matt Moore to a one-year deal worth up to $2.5-million. Both Ross and Moore will compete for spots in the starting rotation, but could end up working out of the bullpen.
