QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A resolution that would allow the use of golf carts on public streets in Quincy is on the agenda for Tuesday’s Quincy Village Council meeting.
If adopted, the resolution would allow those 16 years or older with a valid driver’s license to operate golf carts in the village. The speed limit would be 15 miles an hour and golf carts would not be allowed in an area where the speed limit is over 30 miles an hour.
Golf carts will not be allowed to operate on U.S. 12 except to cross at the intersections. They will also be allowed only during daytime hours which will be from a half hour after sunrise to a half hour before sunset.
Drivers must stay on the right side of the road and golf carts will not be allowed on the sidewalks.
Golf carts and drivers would have to be registered with the Village Clerk in order to operate on village streets. There would be a $20 annual fee.
