COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It’s been almost two years since Coldwater Community Schools started their Early College program.
Coldwater High School Principal Bill Milnes told the Coldwater School Board this week that the program is growing around the state, with 66 programs in 2015, 93 in 2016 and 117 last year.
The Coldwater High School student numbers have grown as well, from 12 students in the first year to 34 students in the 2017-2018 school year. That number includes 12 seniors and 22 juniors.
The Coldwater High School Early College program is designed to give high school students starting in their sophomore year a chance to earn college credits in a collaboration between the high school, the Branch Area Careers Center and the Kellogg Community College Grahl Center campus in Coldwater.
