UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Union City and the Union City Chamber of Commerce are looking for participates in the 49th annual 2018 Union City Memorial Day Parade and Cemetery Service honoring our nation’s veterans.
The parade will be Monday, May 28, starting at 10:30 a.m. from the Union City High School parking lot.
The parade will extend through downtown Union City, ending at Riverside Cemetery, which will take about an hour.
There will a pause at the Broadway Street Bridge to allow for a ceremony to honor the Navy and Coast Guard.
Parade participants are asked to arrive to the high school by 10:00 AM to ensure an orderly line up of parade units.
Kids on bicycles and others not wishing to walk the entire parade route begin at the parking lot downtown adjacent to The Serenity Center.
A bike decorating contest will be held at the parking lot across from the library before the parade. Bikes should be decorated in a Memorial Day theme.
Following the parade is the Cemetery Service at Riverside Cemetery.
