CALIFORNIA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Five people were taken to a Fort Wayne hospital Thursday night after they were injured in a car-buggy accident in southern Branch County.
As many as seven persons may have been injured, but that information has not been confirmed.
The Michigan State Police are still putting the details of the accident together so no further information was available on Friday.
The crash happened at around 7:30 p.m. in California Township on South Fremont Road north of East Copeland Road.
Branch County Central Dispatch reported that the State Police were at the scene for about an hour and a half.
Also responding were Life Care Ambulance and the Fremont, Indiana fire department.
Fremont Fire Chief Eric Hufnagle says two adults and three children were taken by ambulance to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. The severity of their injuries was not known.
