MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – City of Marshall Police say a gun incident in the Marshall High School parking lot after last Thursday’s football game with Harper Creek involved adults. They issued a press release Friday which stated no students were directly involved contrary to some rumors in the community.
A caller told police that a man had a firearm, and had pulled the firearm out and pointed it at another adult after a verbal altercation. Officers soon located the 48- year-old man in the parking lot, who had the firearm. After the investigation, the suspect was arrested and lodged at the Calhoun County Jail on several charges.
The suspect told police he was sitting in the parking lot waiting to get his children when two vehicles cut him off. The first driver said some vulgar things to him about his parking before driving off.
Officers seized the firearm and also located an empty bottle of liquor in the truck. next to the firearm. The suspect admitted to consuming the alcohol. A breath test later revealed the suspect had an illegal blood alcohol reading of .10 at the time of the test.
