COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A new project is being launched this month by the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence.
The project is a retail store in downtown Coldwater called The Chameleon and it was announced at yesterday morning’s meeting of the Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Club by Janessa Kahler, an advocate for the Coalition. According to Kahler, the Coalition’s Shelter House receives many generously given items of clothing and furniture that they pass on to women who are trying to rebuild a household.
The new idea of having The Chameleon is to ask the public to donate items such as decorations, art and knick-knacks to be sold at the store to help the work of the Shelterhouse in Coldwater. According to Kahler, the next time you are cleaning up your house and you find something you’re sick of seeing and you’re over it, that item could be donated for the store and be someone else’s special little treasure that they’ve been looking for to brighten up their home.
The Chameleon is located on Monroe Street next to the Broadway Grill. The shop will have a “soft opening” as a preview during tomorrow’s Applefest in Coldwater from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
