COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A longtime member of the Coldwater City Council has lost her battle with cancer.
64 year old Maureen Petzko passed away Tuesday at home, surrounded by her family.
Petzko worked for the Branch – Hillsdale – St. Joseph Community Health Agency for 36 years and retired from her position as Director of Operations in July 2017. She was elected to Coldwater’s City Council in 1994 and represented Coldwater’s Third Ward, serving as Mayor Pro Tem since 2012.
She was also appointed by the Council in 1999 to serve on Coldwater’s Planning Commission, a position she held for nearly 19 years. Petzko resigned from City Council earlier this month after 24 years of public service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 20 from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., with the Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m., at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. The family will receive friends, prior to the mass on Friday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Church.
