COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater hosted 24 teams at this year’s Cardinal Invitational at the Coldwater Golf Course, and Coldwater ended up tying Harper Creek for 10th place overall with each team carding a team score of 344. Quincy placed 17th with a team score of 402.
Marshall won the event with a 314 and Mattawan was a close second with a 316. Charles DeLong of Dewitt was Medalist firing an excellent round of 5 under par 67 on a day with severe wind warnings.
Coldwater’s Alec Keplinger ended up in a tie for 8th place firing a round of 77. Kyle Herman shot an 86, Noah Waterbury fired a 90, and Kyle Sheppard had a 91 to complete the team scoring for the Cardinals. Their next action is on Wednesday at the first Interstate 8 jamboree of the season at Marshall.
Lawson Tell had the low round for Quincy with an 87. Brody Glei fired a 92, Luke Donay shot a 111, and Brodie Mainstone had a 112. The Orioles return to action Thursday at the second Big 8 Jamboree of the season at Union City.
