COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school softball, Coldwater dropped both ends of an Interstate 8 doubleheader to Marshall by scores of 12-9 and 15-2 Tuesday. A Coldwater comeback in the first game fell short after Marshall scored 10 runs in the first inning. Mallory Wilber had three hits while Autumn Sunderland had a triple.
Jayla Foster had two hits and two RBI’s in the second game. The Cardinals are now 2-2 in the I-8 and 2-8 overall.
Quincy swept a Big 8 Conference doubleheader at Union City by scores of 12-0 and 10-0. Morgan Michael took the win in the first game. She also had a homer and two RBI’s.
Megan Kirt had three hits and four RBI’s. Kelsey Mainstone was the winning pitcher in the second game.
Bronson swept a Big 8 Conference doubleheader at Springport by scores of 7-6 and 6-5. The Vikings scored six runs in the third inning of the first game and had to hold on for the win. Bronson used a four run sixth inning to win the nightcap.
