QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council awarded a medical marijuana provisioning center license to Alvarez Cultivation on a 4-1 vote during their Tuesday night meeting.
They also approved a request from Alvarez for a Class C Grow and Processor license.
The actions come after the license for EAN Development north of the McDonald’s Restaurant in Quincy was revoked by the Village Council earlier this month because of what village officials felt was inaction by the applicant.
A village ordinance approved last February allows for three medical marijuana provisioning center licenses in Quincy.
There were initially five applications made to the village. Each applicant is reviewed by village staff and scored on a rating system before a license is approved.
