DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Jordan Eberle lit the lamp twice as the New York Islanders skated to a 4-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings Monday.
Anders Lee and Anthony Beauvillier scored in the first period to skate New York to a 2-0 lead. Dylan Larkin got one back for Detroit on the power play midway through the second before Eberle put the game away with his two tallies.
The Isles have won two straight since a three-game skid.
The Red Wings went 1-for-6 on the power play and have lost 10 in-a-row, including eight straight regulation losses. Detroit will host the Penguins on Saturday.
Chicago Blackhawks assistant coach Marc Crawford is on leave after the team launched an investigation. The Hawks are conducting a review based on recent allegations made against Crawford regarding his conduct with another organization.
The move comes days after the New York Post published a story in which former NHL player Sean Avery claimed Crawford kicked him during a game in the 2006-07 season. Crawford was coaching the Kings at the time while Avery was playing for them.
