ANN ARBOR, MI (WTVB) – The University of Michigan is off to a school-record mens basketball start after an 80-60 win over Northwestern at Crisler Center. Zavier Simpson led the fourth-ranked Wolverines with a career-high 24 points.
U-of-M is 17-and-0 overall and 6-and-0 in the Big Ten. They play Saturday at Wisconsin.
Nick Ward logged 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead fifth-ranked Michigan State to a 71-56 win at Penn State. The Spartans led by 16 at the break and cruised from there.
MSU is 15-and-2 overall and 6-and-0 in the Big Ten. They play Thursday at Nebraska.
