GRASS LAKE, MI (WTVB) – Quincy gave second-ranked Dundee quite a battle Saturday in the Michigan High School Athletic Association girls softball regional semifinals at Grass Lake before the Orioles season ended with a 2-1 loss.
After Dundee scored a run in the bottom of the first, Quincy tied the game with a run in the top of the sixth. But the Vikings got what proved to be the winning run in the bottom half of the frame.
Megan Kirt had two of the three hits for the Orioles and drove in Quincy’s only run. Kelsey Mainstone went the distance in the circle for the Orioles.
Dundee winning pitcher McKenna Schmidt struck out 15 batters.
