COLON, MI (WTVB) – A young woman was injured Friday morning following a crash involving a passenger car and a semi tractor trailer at a rural intersection in St .Joseph County.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department investigated the accident which took place at M-66 and Findley Road in Colon Township at about 6:30 a.m..
Deputies told WWMT-TV that a 19-year-old Indiana woman ran a stop sign and collided with the semi, and then the woman’s car went under the trailer.
She was flown from the scene by West Michigan Air Care. Her name was not released.
The semi driver was not injured.
The Michigan Department of Transportation reports the crash forced both lanes of M-66 to be shut down until mid morning.
