COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A special use permit for a new Dairy Queen store at the site of the soon-to-be-demolished Coldwater Recreation Lanes bowling alley at 559 East Chicago Street was approved Monday night by the Coldwater Planning Commission.
The new DQ restaurant would be over 2,600 square feet in size with a drive-through window and 42 parking spaces.
The parent parcel has been split and the DQ restaurant will occupy the east lot.
Ironically, the Planning Commission approved a site plan for a new doctors office at the site of the former Dairy Queen restaurant at 152 South Division.
Doctor Baron Whateley plans to build a 2,850 square foot orthodontics office and surgery building at the location of the old DQ store which was torn down last August.
