PITTSBURGH, PA (WTVB) – Daniel Norris gave up just two runs on four hits in six innings as the Detroit Tigers beat the Pirates 5-4 in Pittsburgh.
Nicholas Castellanos went 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI and Miguel Cabrera went 2-for-4 with an RBI to spark Detroit. Buck Farmer picked up the win in relief for the Tigers and Shane Greene nailed down his 21st save.
The win snaps a four-game losing streak for Detroit.
Josh Bell hit a solo homer in the second for Pittsburgh, while Jung Ho Kang and Kevin Newman each had run-scoring triples. Rookie Mitch Keller gave up four runs on four hits in five innings, but did not factor in the decision.
Kyle Crick took the loss. The Pirates have lost two-of-three and 9-of-11.
Jordan Zimmermann will come off injured list today and start for the Tigers against the Pirates in Pittsburgh. He has been out since April 26 with a right UCL sprain. He went 0-and-4 with a 5.93 ERA in six starts before the injury. Trevor Williams will start for the Pirates.
