COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Sherwood woman has entered into a plea agreement in Branch County District Court after charges were filed against her in connection with a drunk driving crash last December in Sherwood Township that caused serious injuries to a pair of passengers.
A court spokesperson says 35-year old Rachel Riehl entered a guilty plea to a charge of operating under the influence of liquor with an occupant under the age of 16.
Three other charges were dismissed in exchange for the guilty plea by prosecutors. Sentencing has been scheduled for August 5, 2019.
Riehl was the driver of the car involved in the accident that happened on Oliverda Road.
Michigan State Police investigated the rollover crash and said two passengers who were not wearing seat belts were taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment. The warrant said there were three children in the car between the ages of five and nine.
